Fat Head Racing Development Graduate, Brennan Poole Wins in First Career ARCA Start at Salem Speedway

Forest City, NC(May 2, 2011) -- Just over six months removed from a successful two-year stint with Fat Head Racing's Driver Development Program, Brennan Poole drove his car to victory lane in his first ever start in the ARCA Series presented by Menards.

For the last two seasons, Poole was behind the wheel of Jamie Yelton's Fat Head Racing Driver Development Program in a Late Model Stock Car in the UARA-STARS Series and on Sunday, May 1st, the young driver made the trip to victory lane in the ARCA Series. The race was held at the 1/2 mile Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana on Sunday afternoon and after qualifying on the outside pole, Poole ran up front all day before losing a lap due to having to pit under green for tires and fought his way back to the front to win the race.

Yelton, who was his driver coach at Fat Head Racing wasn't in attendance at Salem Speedway, but was extremely proud of his young former driver.

"We knew he was a wheelman," said Yelton. "He showed us everything he needed to in the last two seasons racing with us and up there in that race, he showed the rest of the world. I certainly think this puts him on the map and we at Fat Head Racing couldn't be more proud of him for what he accomplished."

Yelton's Fat Head Racing Driver Development Program has had some of the sports brighest young stars in his cars over the last few seasons including NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Steven Wallace, NASCAR K&N East Series driver, Matt DiBenedetto in addition to Poole. Yelton also has a tremendous two-car program right now with Marcos Ambrose Motorsports Development driver, George Miedecke racing one of his cars and another up and coming youngster, Ronnie Bassett, Jr. in the other.

"We've got a great program over here at Fat Head Racing," continued Yelton. "Brennan's win today shows what these young kids can learn in our program. We've got two more talented drivers, Ronnie(Bassett, Jr.) and George(Miedecke), who we believe can be the next to take center stage in a higher series."

Fat Head Racing will be back in action in two weeks in the UARA-STARS Series fourth race of the 2011 season at Rockingham Speedway. Both Bassett and Miedecke will be competing in the race on the one-mile Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina.
